1907, Odessa, The Foutermann family fled the Bolshevik revolution and immigrated to Paris.
In the center of the French Capital, the family ran a large manufacturer for rosewood and "Marqueterie" furniture. With the rise of the 3rd Reich and the war dividing France, young Edouard Foutermann hide from the oppression in the South of France.
In Nice, Edouard opened his jewelry trading business, and for the next 35 years he traveled the French Hexagon searching for the rare and the unique. From Paris to Lyon and Strasbourg to Bordeaux every Antique Jeweler knew Mr. Foutermann and his bag full of gems and jewels.
1972, Edouard's son, Herve Foutermann and his wife Helene open their first jewelry store Rue de France in Nice. A few years later they opened a second store HER Design also in Nice.
1999, Helia and Hugo Foutermann, daughter and son of Helene and Herve built and incredible network of contacts around the world. They saw an opportunity to extend the family business to London and New York and HER Design & Co. was born.
Today, the company continues the tradition of three generations of Antique Jewelers with the longstanding passion for the rare and the unique.
